Due to pressure of work and too many meetings it's been a while since the site was updated probably early last year! this time last year I wondered what effect the recession would have on events and speculating that local club events might benefit as riders would not ride with the larger national clubs due to travelling costs alone.
Was I right about 2011? Entries at events in 2011 were mixed some clubs seeming to have good entries and others the worst entries for years, clubs running at Anglesey seeming to be affected the worst, maybe because wherever you travel from the fuel costs are going to be high, but not exclusively as one local club had very good entries but another local club had poor entries at most meetings.
So what has 2012 got in store more of the same? not the weather I hope, at two day meeting last year I had to delay the start of racing on the Saturday so could only run one block of racing and on the Sunday after practice and one block of racing I had no choice but to abandon the meeting as the rain was that heavy, thank goodness for Goretex!, the BSB at Oulton on the same day was also cut short due to rain.
Anyway this year we welcome back Bemsee to Oulton Park taking advantage of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday to have a two day meeting Monday and Tuesday don't forget!, giving 5 club dates this year though all bunched up in May -June nothing after June at the moment.
